Life Story for Altamese A Graham

Altamese Anita Graham was born April 14, 1926 in West Palm Beach, Florida to
Eddie Graham and Lizzie Lee Bowman who both proceeded her in death.
Altamese grew up in Jacksonville, Florida uniting with 2nd Baptist Church as a
child. Altamese was the 3rd of 6th children. She was the proud graduate of
Stanton High School, Class of 1945. She attended Brewster Hospital Nursing
School in Jacksonville. After 3 years, she graduated in 1948 earning a Registered
Nursing Degree.
After receiving her nursing degree, Altamese relocated to Tampa (FL), and
Philadelphia (PA) before settling in New York city. In New York, she worked at
Women's Hospital (Manhattan), Kings County Hospital (Brooklyn) , and St Mary's
Hospital (Brooklyn). While in New York, Altamese had one son, Terrance James
who proceeded her in death. After 43 years of service, Altamese retired as
Head Nurse of the St Mary's Clinic and returned home.
Upon returning home Altamese assisted her sister, Willie L. Green, with taking
care of their mother and older Sister Annabelle Houston, who proceeded her in
death. She was also proceeded in death by two brothers Edward Bell and
Herbert Bell . After a long sickness, Altamese went to be with the Lord on
March 6, 2019.
Altamese is survived by one sister Willie L. Green, two grandchildren Darian and
Bria Bouie, one niece Betty Brown, 4 great grandnephews, 1 great grandnieces
and a host of other family members and friends.
