Obituary for Charles Edward Smith Sr.

On October 23, 1951, in Columbus, GA, Mr. and Mrs. Eddie C. and Claudia F. Smith welcomed a new baby boy into their family, and named him Charles Edward. He was nurtured in a loving home environment along with his siblings.

Charles attended the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind for 12 years, graduating in 1971. In 1972, he was wed to Juana Griffin, and they shared life together for 40 years.

In 1976, he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior, and was baptized into the Christian Faith. Charles was an avid reader of the Bible and a faithful member of Trinity Baptist Church. He was also a great fan of the 49ers football team. There was something very special about Charles.
Brother Charles Edward Smith was preceded in death by his father, Eddie C. Smith, and brother, Ricky Jerome Smith.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Mrs Juana Smith; mother, Mrs. Claudia Smith; son, Charles Edward Smith, Jr. Jacksonville, FL; daughters, Cathy Lois Smith, Mobile, AL, Kenyette Smith Williams and Kristal Jo Smith, Jacksonville, FL; grand children, Jeremiah Smith, Timaiah King, Jerry D. Williams III, Jaekwan Burden, Ryan Brymer, Mariah Smith, Jackaela Williams, Patience Love, Pergonnias Love III, Santerrio Albert, Khadidra Albert, Emmanuel Sloan and Dwodunni People, Jacksonville; great grands, Maryiah Poe and Anna Poe; siblings, Bobbie A. Mathis, Cindy Smith Franco, Lendia Jackson; Eddie Smith Jr., Robert Smith and James Smith; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, inlaws and dear friends.
