Obituary for Cynthia Elaine Hartfield Horn

On Tuesday, 66 years ago on November 3, 1953, Joseph and Delores Ebron Hartfield welcomed a new addition to their family and named her Cynthia Elaine. She was reared in a loving home along with her siblings, and was baptized at a young age in Mt. Ararat Baptist Church, which was the family church at that time. As a young adult, Cynthia joined Mt. Bethel Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorate of Rev. S.A. Thomas, Jr., was placed on District #1, Dea. Samuel Barney, Leader, and sang with the S.A. Thomas Joylistic Voices.
She attended the public schools of Duval County, making her mark in high school as a great athlete in the fields of track and softball where she won several medals. In 1972, Cynthia graduated with the first Senior Class from William M. Raines Senior High School. She continued her education at Florida Junior College at Jacksonville and Rice Institute. Her work history included that of a Hospitality Supervisor and operating a Community Candy Store. Cynthia was known for her all occasion card ministry; she also loved solving Word Search Puzzles, watching classic movies, and being around her family.

Cynthia was preceded in death by her beloved son, Ricky Horn; father, Joseph Hartfield, Sr.; step-father, Rev. Walter H. Rosier, Sr.; and siblings, Andrea Felder (William), Jacqueline White and Jerome Rosier.
Her memory will be cherished by her loving family: mother, Sis. Delores Rosier; children, TaKesha Horn and Maurice Horn; daughter-in-law, Annette Horn; grandchildren, William Thomas, Kā€™Chone Wright, Tyree Wright, Vanessa Horn, Amira Horn and Frederick (Jay) Horn; two great grandchildren; siblings, Carl Hartfield, Joseph Hartfield, Richard Hartsfield, Iris Davis (Anthony), Walter Rosier (Iris), Bruce Rosier, Willie M. Young (James) and Rev. Carlene Tillery (Antony); mother-in-Law, Mrs. Thelma McClendon; sisters-in-law, Denise Horn, Bonnie Horn; brothers-in-law, Tony Horn and Larry Horn (Yvette); God-daughters, Miranda Sharpe (George), Iteshia Courtney and Alicia Fogle (Laurie); a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends, to include Carolyn Williams and Lenora Linder.
