Obituary for Gregory "Peacock" Blackshear

Gregory Blackshear was born November 11, 1956, to Freddie and Louise Blackshear in Jacksonville, FL. He attended the Duval County public schools, including Ribault Senior High School.
Gregory was employed by Risher and Rouse Cement/Concrete for approximately thirty (30) years, where he learned all about the construction business. Upon retirement, he was employed by the Toyota company. Shortly after, Gregory’s love for construction work landed him back in the industry with Anthony Williams Roofing, where he worked until his health became a serious issue.
He was preceded in death by his father, Freddie Lee Blackshear, Jacksonville, FL; and mother, Mrs. Louise Risher, Baxley, GA. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Barbara Blackshear; children, Sherie Jones, NeSha Lewis, Temeka Eichelberger, and DeAngelo Bland (all of Jacksonville, FL), Von Blackshear, Gainesville, FL, father, Hamp Risher, Baxley, GA; step-mother, Bishop Lillie Blackshear; siblings, Geri Crumley (John), Gail Blackshear Peterson, Rhonda Williams, and Carla Brown, Eddie Risher, Lorretta Scofield, Earl Risher, Anthony Risher, Terry Risher, Darlene Risher, Corine Risher, Kelvin Risher and Nikkii Risher; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; his significant other of seventeen years, Rosalyn Gamble of Jacksonville, who was very loving and devoted; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends to cherish his memory, and a close friend (like a brother) Anthony Williams.
