Obituary for Levi McFatten Jr.

Levi McFatten Jr. entered this life in Morrison, Florida, on January 21, 1937, welcomed by his
parents, Mae Belle Johnson and Levi “Buster” McFadden. He was raised in a loving environment,
and received Christ as his Savior as a young lad. Levi attended the local schools, graduating from
Howard High School (formerly Howard Academy) in Ocala, FL, Class of 1957. During his tenure he
participated with the school’s softball team and Running Back with the “Wild Bulls” football team; He
also sang with the school chorus. The 1957 graduating Class celebrated 50 years in 2007.

Levi furthered his education by attending a Vocational Barber College from which he graduated. Now
a resident of Jacksonville, FL, Levi became a successful barber for 45+ years, owning Barber Shops
first located in Sherwood and then Washington Heights, and later, Mac’s Barber Shop located on
Soutel Drive. He also became the husband of Stephanie Marie.

Knowing he needed a Christian home base, Levi first attended St. Stephen A.M.E. Church. Later, he
joined Mount Herman Baptist Church under the pastorate of Rev. A.L. Jordan, he was ordained a
Deacon. At Springhill Baptist Church, Pastor Michael Jackson, he served on Usher Board #1.

Levi was affiliated with the Good Guys Motorcycle Club and the Most Worshipful Union Grand
Lodge. Free Masons, Affiliated Oakland Lodge #65. Masonic achievements include Blue House,
Oakland Lodge #65; Red House, Holy Royal Arch Masonry, Crescent #50; Royal Select Masters,
Council #1;and Knights Templar, S.M. Davis #99; Ancient Egyptian Arabic Order Nobles of the
Mystic Shrine Temple #8.

God called Deacon Levi McFatten home on Thursday, September 8, 2022. “Well done, thou good
and faithful servant.”

He was preceded in death by parents, Ms. Mae Belle Johnson and Levi “Buster” McFadden, Sr.; his wife, Stephanie Marie McFatten; sister, Shernita Johnson; Horace McFadden, Freddie L. McFadden, Sr., Bernard McFadden, Loretta McFadden Anderson, Beverly McFadden Robinson, Earlene McFadden Hester and Freddie L. McFadden, Sr.

Survivors include children, Kenneth McFadden -Ocala, FL, Sytoya M. Harvin (Oscar)-Conroe, TX, Shajuana L. Poole (Darryl) and Ana’Latore “Michele” McFatten-Jacksonville, FL , and Yolanda B. Jones, -Kissimmee, FL; stepchildren, Vito L. Smith (Marchelle) and Vanessa Smith Faust-Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, Shauntoya Mosely, Darrielle Poole, Ashajhunai Jones, Oscar “Chandler” Harvin, Kamari Jones, Stephen Jones, Yalayna Jones and Sariyah Jones; brothers, Jimmie L. Johnson (Verna) and Willie L. Johnson-Ocala, FL, Robert L Johnson-Hallandale, FL, Pastor Herbert McFadden, Sr. (Robin) and Pastor Joseph McFadden (Mary) -Tampa, FL; sisters, Ann L. McFadden Billings-Hallendale, FL, Glendora Johnson Clayton-Fort Lauderdale, FL, Vera L.
