Obituary for Phillip Jerry Allen
Family, friends, old-school music, and nature are some of the things that brought joy to Phillip Allen. He was born August 4, 1962, in Jacksonville, Florida to Pearl Allen and the late Jerry Allen.
Phillip received his formal education from Duval County Schools and graduated in 1980 from Jean Ribault High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served for two years until he was honorably discharged following an accident.
Phillip had a passion for video games, reading, researching, and debating. His favorite channel was National Geographic. He had a love for basketball and football. Phillip was an avid collector of classic movies, trading cards, stamps, and lottery tickets.
Phillip received his heavenly wings on Monday, July 12, 2021. He leaves to cherish his memory four sons, Philip Allen, Travis Allen, Toran Allen, and Javon Collier; his loving mother Pearl Allen; three sisters Jacquelin Thornes (Succeeded in death), Valeria Jenkins and Latrese Allen, two brothers, Vincent Allen (Glinda) and Ellis Dickerson (Garian); three granddaughters Jamilah, Jadzia and Jakayla Collier; special aunts Pansy, Sylvia, Cynthia and Renea; eight nephews Corey Glass, Christopher Jenkins, Doron Thornes, Marqui Allen, Corey Glass, II, Sherrod Lawson, Christian Jenkins, Cayden Jenkins, four nieces Brionna & Arionna Thornes, Jazmine Allen, and Chloe’ Glass, and a host of cousins and friends.
