“On Wednesday, July 28, 1954, I, Sandra Alexia Douglas, was born to mother, Mildred Moore Douglas, and father, Alex Douglas. I attended local public schools here in Jacksonville, FL, a graduate of the February 1972 class of Florida Junior College Adult Center. On September 13, 1971, I gave birth to a beautiful daughter whose name was Katrina Artrice Singleton.
In September 1973, I graduated from the FCCJ Practical Nursing Program. I was employed at University Medical Center on October 1, 1973, and retired from the Duval County Health Department in November 1998, as an L.P.N.
In August 1986, I accepted Jesus as Lord and in July 1996, I became a devout Christian, adamant about serving the LORD.” She was a member of Open Arms Christian Fellowship, Bishop Leofric Thomas, Pastor, under the Tribe of Dan, Dea. Gregory Johnson, Leader.
On October 20, 2020, Sister Douglas made her earthly transition to her heavenly home, forever to be with the Lord.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alex and Mildred Douglas; daughter, Katrina A, Duncan; and great-granddaughter, Jamayca.
Left to cherish precious memories are her devoted son-in-law, Ronald W. Duncan, Sr.; siblings, Patricia A. Douglas and Ronald L. Douglas; grandchildren, Wade, Rachel and Regina Duncan, Latoria Ivory (Keith), Ronald, Jr., and Ieshia; great grandchildren, Maria, Joshani and Quintez; and a host of other relatives and friends.
