Obituary for Wardell Hubbard

Reflections of Life

On November 25, 1940, one month before Christmas, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur and Vivian Hubbard received the gift of their fourth child, whom they named Wardell. He was born in St. Mary’s, Georgia, where the family resided. He was reared and nurtured by his parents in a loving environment. As time passed he became old enough to attend the public schools in St. Mary’s, from which he received his formal education. After graduation from Ralph Bunche High School, Wardell found successful long term employment in the paper mill industry.

Wardell’s leisure time was the opportunity to enjoy his favorite hobbies: fishing and gardening. He was blessed with four children and seven grandchildren.

On the first day of the new year 2022, on January 1st, Mr. Wardell Hubbard passed away at the age of 81, leaving the struggles of this world behind. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Hubbard, and brothers, Arthur Lewis Hubbard, Michael Hubbard, and Eugene Hubbard. Left to cherish memories are his children, Dannette Hill, Lisa Foster (Vincent), Tracie Hubbard, and Wardell Hubbard (Tricia); siblings, Evelyn Sabb, Viola Mae McCartney, Fannie Richo, Jack Hubbard, Billy Hubbard (Willie Marie), Fostina Mitchell, Sterling Hubbard, Enoch Hubbard, and sister-in-law, Sarah Hubbard; and grandchildren, Melvin Bryant, Jr., Andrew Williams, Vincent D. Foster, Bryant Foster, Lamar “Chris” Lindsay, Jordan Lindsay and Kennedy Tinsley.
