Life Story for Emanuel Fred Rosier Jr.

Emanuel Fred  Rosier Jr.
Emanuel Fred Rosier, Jr., affectionately known as Buster, was born September 14, 1951, the eldest of seven children, to Mr. and Mrs. Emanuel Fred, Sr. and Gladys Henderson Rosier in Jacksonville, FL. He was baptized and joined Mt. Bethel Baptist Church as a child, under the pastorate of Rev. B. W. Williams.

A 1971 graduate of William M. Raines Sr. High, he enlisted in the U.S. army and was stationed in South Korea. Upon his discharge, he wed Harriet Wyche of Jacksonville and they moved to Ypsilanti, MI, where he was employed with the General Motors Corporation for over 10 years. During his residency in Ypsilanti, he was a congregant of Christian Life Center Church. Buster became disabled, and moved back to Jacksonville. Buster was extremely social and enjoyed life. A sports enthusiast, he enjoyed watching football, especially the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Detroit Lions. He loved playing Bid Whist and talking plenty trash. Lastly, he was a champion pool player, having honed his skills as a child. Buster was kind to everyone he met, regardless of their station in life. He will be remembered as a gentle, kind, generous and caring person, and a loyal friend.

Emanuel Fred Rosier, Jr., passed away on Friday, December 16, 2016, at Community Hospice of NE Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Emanuel F. Rosier, Sr.; and three brothers, Larry, Gregory Eugene and Tony Ivan Rosier.

He is survived by his loving companion of over 30 years, Marilyn “Jackie” Houston, Jacksonville; her children, Henry Houston, Brenda Tomblin and son, Breon, La’Tunya Houston, Travis Houston and daughter, DeShauna; previous wife of 17 years, Harriet Clairese Rosier; his son, Larry La’Ron Rosier, TX; his daughters, Shanika Qishaun McQueen (Mendell), MI, and Kindra Cherese Rosier, MI; six grandchildren, Larissa, Brenden, Akayla, Brianna, Jamar and Mendell, Jr.; sister, Gwendolyn Patricia Rosier; brothers, Michael Renard Rosier (Melody) and Baron Dean Rosier (Joy); sisters-in-law, Linda Rosier and Brenda Rosier; uncle, Eugene Henderson (Mary), RI; aunts, Mother Delores Rosier and Mother Ethelyn Rosier; and a host of loving family near and far, nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
